Challenge 6 - What a Challenge

Here it is...only one team member had to do this. Since Qadirah is packing for a move, I got elected to do this. Great challenge for me as this is my first cluster type LO!

Welcome to ADSR! Whoot, we at Scrappity-Doo-Dah are so excited to be your host.

For this challenge you have reached a ROADBLOCK. Huh? What does that mean you ask? Well, this means that only one of you may complete this challenge.

Are you ready for this challenge? It's easy-peasy, NOT!

Theme: Scrap Yourself!

Directions:
1. Select 2 papers, solid/solid, solid/pattern, pattern/pattern.
2. Lay your first paper so that if covers the entire workspace.
3. Take the second paper insert it into your LO and decrease the size so that the paper is slightly smaller than the bottom layer.
4. Shadow the top layer.
5. Select a photo of you when you were younger and another one of you taken within the past year.
6. Photos should be 4 x 6. They can be vertical or horizontal. They can be color, sepia, or black/white.
7. Place the younger version of you in the top right quadrant of your layout.
8. Frame it.
9. Place the most recent photo of you in the lower right hand quadrant of your layout.
10. Frame it.

Buttons - 4
Flowers - 4
Leaf//Leaves - 2
Heart shapes - 2

12. Type up 10 words to describe yourself. They can be in any font, as long as its legible, and would prefer they be positives about you.
13. Tuck these words near your clustering -- they must be visible and not hidden by elements.
14. Insert the following Title, anywhere on your layout : This one is for me!

Here's Challenge 4

Our combined ATC card in a LO together!

Welcome to Digitals! We are proud to be hosting an intersection, so we are asking the teams to collaborate on a set of 4 Valentine's themed ATC cards.

ATC's 1 & 2. Since its the season of love, each racer will make one Artist Trading Card on the theme "The One I Love." Think of your spouse or significant other, children, God, pets, friends, etc.

ATC's 3 & 4. Then each racer will make one trading card honoring their ADSR teammate.

You must upload all 4 cards in ONE combined preview image to the ADSR forum at NDISB:
http://ndisb.com/forum/index.php?/ga...ory/47-adsr54/
And we would love to see them here in our Digitals ATC gallery as well:
http://digitalscrapbookpages.com/gal...y.php/cat/1204

Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) are 3.5" x 2.5" mini-layouts. They can be horizontal or vertical orientation. They are meant to be light-hearted, humorous, and often have an altered look. They often have a partial picture and a small amount of text, the rest is decorative. Have fun with it!

There are no specific elements, journaling or photo requirements.

Challenge #3, Selective Colouring

Welcome to Scrappers Online. Some of you may have never visited us before. Yes, we have forums. And yes, we have a gallery. But really, what we are all about is learning. We ourselves are constantly trying to grow as scrappers, and would like to share that journey with others. We are trying to collect tutorials for all the different software packages out there, making us a central location for anyone who wants to learn about scrapping. And we're inclusive, we have forums for hybrid, paper and stamping too.
So I am sure it will come as no surprise to you then that learning is part of what our challenge is all about.

We would like you to do a layout that includes selective coloring. We have two tutorials here,
Selective Colouring in Photoshop, and Selective Coloring in Paint Shop Pro. Not that you are required to use these techniques, feel free to selectively colour any way you see fit. Our requirement is that your layout has a focal photo, and that photo has some selective colouring in it.
We would also like to see some journaling. Scrapbooking is about sharing experiences, and we'd like to hear a little about those experiences. So we ask that you include some journaling, at least 20 words worth. And no, captions, titles or dates don't count towards your 20 words. Let's have some fun with the journaling, playing with colour to highlight, or using tags or something to give selective emphasis to your journaling. Just put a selective focus on a couple of your journaling words in some way. Be creative!

Speaking of dates, we want to see them. Half a century from now, when I'm long gone, I'd like people be able to look at my layouts and know at least when stuff happened. We've already covered the "what" with journaling, let's tell the whole story! And not just typing the date somewhere on the page ... we know you all are closet date element hoarders out there, lets see some of those fun and funky elements! Show us when the event was, when you journaled, share a date or two with us!

All layouts must of course be posted at
NDISB challenge #3 gallery, but we ask that you also post a copy of your layout here in our ADSR 5 Gallery on our Challenge Wall.

Any questions regarding this challenge can be posted in this thread. We are generally available from 6 AM EST to 2 AM EST. We will try to monitor the threads at NDISB too, but our thread here will be the comprehensive list of answers to questions. Hopefully we've made this clear enough that there won't be too many questions!

Thank you so much for coming to visit us at Scrappers Online, and we hope you find this leg of the race to be a truly enjoyable learning experience. :-)

As a little check off list.. required parts are:

1. One focal photo with selective coloring

2. 20 or more words of journaling with possible highlights
3. At least one date element!

All Racers who complete this challenge will receive this fabulous mini kit created by friends of our site!

Challenge 2 - WOW! This is a "Challenge"!

Welcome to the Guild! We are so excited to be the second stop in this season's race! Here at the Guild our goal is to be a source of inspiration and learning in the digi-scrap world. To that end each month we offer an exclusive Guild kit as well as our monthly digital publication, The Artisan Notebook(tm). In February our focus has been a combination of celebrating Valentine's Day and thinking about, "The Games People Play." Our ADSR challenge combines these two ideas with the fact that this is the 5th season of ADSR. One of our regular features in the Artisan Notebook(tm) is called, "Recipe for Design." Our talented team of "Design Chefs" use a specific recipe to cook up some amazing layouts. Now, we are inviting you into the digi-scrap kitchen to use the following recipe to cook up your own unique layout:

Recipe/Challenge:

Theme: 5 things I LOVE about....(choose a person, topic, idea, etc. Be Creative!)
Title: use a combination of 5 fonts and/or alphas (example: use 2 different fonts and 3 different alphas)
Photos: use 5 photos, one of the photos must have the number 5 in it!
Use 5 different elements of the same type (example: use 5 different flowers or 5 different buttons, etc.)

Season to taste: add ingredients from your digital pantry to make this layout your own!

Once you have completed your layout please upload it to the ADSR 5 Gallery and post a link in your team's thread so you can receive credit for completing the challenge. We would love to have you upload your layouts to our Gallery too, so we can see what you cooked up!

All Racers who complete this challenge will receive a choice of any one issue of the Artisan Notebook, any one Guild Encore kit as well as a set of Ready Made Pages (tm) created by Dee Bee Designs using the February Guild kit, "Games People Play."

Chllenge 1 LO - "My Partner Qadirah"

DH let me sleep in so I'm just now posting my LO...love how this turned out. This month's Deco Club Kit ~ Cherry Blossoms Love ~ was so perfect for the photo Qadirah sent me! Had the scraplift almost done...just needed a photo. Was thrilled when I received the photo and I learn something new about Qadirah...she's loves Asian art and some is on the wall behind her in the photo!

This has been a great experience...love working with Qadirah! ~Lajuana~

Scraplift

My first layout is up

Well it took some time to actually get the layout completed. Finding the right layout to scrap lift, getting the right colors and elements together and then having that great photo to pull it all together. I have finally finished it after tweaking and moving and deleting and re-arranging. Stressful, a little but what an amazing start to this amazing digital scrapbooking race. ~Qadirah~

And the Race is ON!!!!! CHALLENGE 1

Qadirah and I have been getting to know each other over the past week getting all ready for the race...but we will be getting to know each other even more the next few days thanks to this First Challenge. It will be a real challenge for Qadirah as I don't have many photos of myself...sorry Qadirah! Ohhhhh...you know what? I have a picture of my foot...I'll keep our followers in suspense....will tell you about it as we work on this fun challenge!

HERE'S CHALLENGE 1

Welcome to Season 5 of the Amazing Digi Scrapping Race! We're excited to kick off the race at NDISB. To ease you back into the race, and to indoctrinate new racers, we've come up with a nice and easy challenge to get you started. Is that an oxymoron? Like jumbo shrimp? Easy challenge? In any case, we tried not to make it TOO challenging.

There are only three basic rules:

1) Your layout is about your partner. Introduce your partner to us. How you do this is entirely up to you. You can interview them, you can send them a questionnaire, you can use 5 words that best describe them, you can journal how you met for this race, or if you've been partners for years, you can make your page about a friendship that started with a crazy internet race and has since turned into so much more. The only rule is, the layout is about your partner and you need to tell us something about them.

2) You must include at least one photo of your partner. Large, small, color, b&w, of their face, back of their head, feet, whatever. But it must be a picture of your partner.

3) You must choose one layout from your partner's gallery and scraplift that as the page design for your layout. Only the placement of items is needed. You don't have to lift the colors, theme, etc. Just the overall placement of papers, elements, title and journaling.

Upload your completed layout to your NDISB gallery and link us to your partner's layout in whatever gallery you found it. I know we have at least one team where a wife coerced, I mean encouraged, her husband to participate. In this case, there may not be an existing gallery. In this case, please have your partner choose a layout from anyone's gallery that he or she really likes, as your design inspiration.
